Adam, friends and his dad, Bill, 6/5/14 Hot Pot

Cal with Guatamalan toddler, January 2016

I don't know if there's been a Mother's Day like this, none of my children home, none in Illinois. I did hear from them and feel their love. It was a blessed day as I got to spend time with my mom, too.

I'm continuing my heavy reading in the morning. Dr. Glaude talks about the Legacy Museum and National Memorial for Peace and Justice as part of the new way to "begin again."

In the afternoons I'm blowing through books by Louise Erdrich and Alicia Keys. I'm mulling over my own creative processes, longing for more. Life is exciting and wondrous when you open your eyes and allow it.
